Reverence

Reverence for food must be cultivated in the young child if it is to become a part of who they are in adulthood.  Through wonder, gratitude, beauty and the order we provide, the young child can be led to reverence in everyday life. At the table, reverence can be cultivated through thankfulness, by saying a verse to bless a meal or by lighting a candle in a moment of stillness before eating.  We teach our children to live by example and this, in turn, will determine how they engage with the world.
